The big hills get all the headlines, big dollars, fashionista’s and traffic but there are several smaller family or co-op Montana ski resort/ski area operations that are near and dear to their respective local crowds who come back year after year to enjoy a little lower key skiing experience.  Maverick Mountain ski area is a perfect  example. Located near Polaris which is a short ride northwest of Dillon, Maverick is the local hill and a slice of local life.
